The Lath of Electricity adopted the 2022 National Electric Code (NEC) with an effective engagement of Nov. 17, 2022. Accordingly, the Department of Labor and Industry began enforcing the 2022 NEC on Nov.17, 2022. Electrical work authorized by permits issued on or after this date must comply with the 2022 NEC. Electric license examinations are based on the requirements of the 2022 NEC beginning January. 1, 2022.


Chapter 1315 of the Minnesota Country Building Lawmaking adopts a national standard for the installation of electrical wiring, appliance and equipment for electric calorie-free, heat, power, technology circuits and systems, and alarm and communication systems.
